Management Team

 

Richard M. Ciampa, MA - President & CEO:

Mr. Ciampa founded AHS in 1996 and has served as the organization’s President & CEO as it has grown into one of Southern California’s premier treatment, prevention, and education providers. He has a broad background in managing substance use disorders, human service programs, and holds a MA degree in Business Management. Mr. Ciampa is a Board Certified Addictions Specialist with over 25 years of experience. In addition, Mr. Ciampa was appointed to represent the City of Los Angeles, as a commissioner, for the Los Angeles County Commission for Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. 

 

Kwesi Addison, MBA – Senior Controller:

Mr. Addison has been with the agency since June 2008. He holds an MBA in Finance, a Chartered Accountant affiliated with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom, and a Bachelors degree in Economics. Mr. Addison has worked in the Non-Profit sector as an Accountant and a Director of Finance for the past six years.

Lori Miller, CATC, CCS - Program Director/Human Resources Manager:

Ms. Miller has been employed with AHS for the past 11 years and is responsible for the overall management of AHS school-based programs. She is a nationally certified Addictions Counselor with over 17 years of experience. She is responsible for program design and content in accordance with the current Los Angeles County Contract, Title 9, and Title 22. She trains and advises AHS staff, coordinators, and managers in issues related to drug and alcohol abuse and needed supportive services. She assisted in development and implementation of AHS' Essential Elements (e2) curriculum. She manages the Human Resource department and is responsible for all employee information and benefits. She oversees the implementation of all Human Resource programs, and monitors administration to established standards and procedures in accordance to State and Federal regulations. 

 

Nguyet Galaz, BS, CATC II - Director of Youth Services:

Mrs. Galaz is a certified addictions treatment counselor and has been employed with the agency for 10 years.  She is responsible for managing AHS’ youth service delivery initiatives. She has over 11 years of relevant experience working in the substance abuse treatment field with Camp Community Transition Program Probation Officers, Probation Intensive Gang Supervision Program, CA Parole Dept., DCFS, and community agencies in delivery of court mandated counseling services to high risk/high needs youth and their families. Mrs. Galaz possesses an extensive background experience in working with diverse populations and progressively responsible leadership experience, with an emphasis on juvenile re-entry services, substance abuse treatment, residential, and intensive outpatient. Additionally, she serves as a volunteer for several professional organizations including Long Beach Bar Foundation Shortstop Program and Fred Jefferson Memorial Homes for Boys. Mrs. Galaz is fluent in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. 

 

Latosha Austin, BA - Executive Assistant: 

Ms. Austin possesses an extensive background in the fields of Human Resources, Marketing, and Accounting. She has a strong passion for helping others and decided to find work in a field that is more rewarding. With her multitude of knowledge in various business functions, Ms. Austin is able to provide work in many different aspects of the organization; skills primarily leading in the areas of Marketing, Accounting, and Event Planning/Coordination. Ms. Austin joined AHS April of 2012.
